Our Story
Des Moines Metro Pickleball Club
The Des Moines Metro Pickleball Club (DMMPC) was officially founded on October 4, 2017, when 17 passionate players gathered at the Pioneer Columbus Recreation Center to form a club and elect a Board of Directors. Shortly after, the Board filed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit and got to work laying the foundation for a thriving pickleball community in Central Iowa.
From the beginning, DMMPC has been a volunteer-driven organization focused on creating opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the fastest growing sport in America.
Our Mission
The Des Moines Metro Pickleball Club (DMMPC) is a volunteer run, non profit organization striving to facilitate the growth of pickleball in the area of Central Iowa. With one voice, the Club works with local municipalities in planning for the needs of our growing and diverse player community. The Club also promotes the best qualities of pickleball by providing a friendly and inclusive environment. In addition, the Club is guided by these principals:

-positively impacting the community

Our Vision
As a service to its members and the community, the DMMPC will:
-provide lessons to improve skills
-provide quality member events for all skill levels and ages
-provide legacy events for both members and non-members
-offer opportunities to volunteer for both pickleball and non pickleball related events
-provide and develop Youth opportunities for instruction, events and tournaments
In addition, the Club will partner with local municipalities (including but not limited to those in Polk, Dallas, Guthrie, Madison and Warren counties) and others to:
-Bring enjoyment, health and social engagement for safe pickleball participation consistent with the concept that Health is Wealth
-Leverage community assets to provide indoor and outdoor facilities for pickleball participation
-Utilize social media and other avenues to allow players to coordinate social play
-Encourage diversity at all pickleball locations

Proud Partner of USA Pickleball
We're affiliated with the USA Pickleball Association (USAPA), the national governing body of the sport. USAPA offers official rules, tournaments, rankings, and resources to help the game continue to grow.
Club Meetings

Annual Meeting: Held every September, includes officer elections, updates, and a special program.

Board Meetings: Typically held monthly or as needed. All members are welcome to attend.
