Annual Meeting Held September 18
The Annual Members' Meeting was held at the Valley Community Center on Tuesday, September 18 at 7:00 PM. The meeting was attended by in excess of 60 members. Several actions were taken including approval of the Treasurer's Report, Audit Report and dues structure for the next year. In addition, the following Board members were elected:

The President reported on activities for the previous year which included completion of Bylaws, filing of Articles of Incorporation, Mission and Vision Statements, ongoing training program at VCC, visits with the West Des Moines Parks & Rec, Waterworks Park Director of Development, Director of Continuing Education at West Des Moines Schools, demonstrations at Valley Junctions Farmers' Market, Panora, Clive, Des Moines Public Schools PE instructors, Ignite Sports and more. Plans for the coming year include expansion of membership, enhanced communications, more social activities, increased member play opportunities, etc.
The membership Drive resulted in 62 new members bringing the current total to 115!
Several announcements were made including the need for volunteers to support club activities (website support, Facebook posting, training, marketing, etc.), donating used equipment to the club, checking your junk mail to see if mailings from the club MailChimp account are going there, suggested viewing this website from time to time, etc. A potential mixer scheduled for November 4 at VCC was also announced; details will follow.
Overall, it was a very good meeting with ample refreshments and beverages. Drawings were held with winners receiving gift cards to Grounds for Celebration, Onyx pickleballs, gift certificate to Pickleball Central and a paddle tech paddle. Four quasi portable net systems were also given away. The meeting was followed by members only pickleball play.
